CREATING ACTIVE SCHOOLS (CAS)
At Christ Church, we believe in the power of activity to Inspire, Achieve and Grow. The impact of movement on physical and mental well-being, achievement and attendance is well-researched. We are an Active School. Since 2024, we have been working in partnership with GM Moving to implement the Creating Active Schools Framework. As one of the initial pilot schools in Wigan, we have had a unique opportunity to play a part in a culture and mind set change within our school community. In 2026, we became only the second school in Wigan to move to an Always Active Uniform in order to remove barriers to activity and facilitate the embedding of movement into our school day. We are very proud of our journey so far! Our Move With Us days, which aim to build parental engagement, have even been showcased nationally.
School Sport and Physical Activity
Alongside our CAS work, we remain committed to developing children's physical literacy and providing opportunities for all to encourage everyone to find positive relationships with movement. This is reflected in the school receiving the GOLD School Games Mark for the 4th consecutive year. Have a look at everything we've done this year! We really packed it in!
