On Thursday 9th October, a group of our Year 5 & 6 pupils went to the BBC Television centre at Media City to sing as part of a choir made up of three Wigan schools with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. The performance was broadcast live on Blue Peter and also on BBC Radio 3. They sang Handel's "Zadok the Priest" which is one of the BBC's songs from the Ten Pieces Project. We are extremely proud of all the children who took part and flew the flag for our school.
They have received compliments from many directions including the Head of Music at OFSTED who tweeted: “'Takes a lot to reduce me to tears but the 100 children from Wigan singing Zadok just did it. Magnificent! #tenpieces

What an honour for the children to sing with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and live too. They were all stars and very professional.
was a pleasure to watch, so proud of all the children.
What an experience for all the children. The sound which they produced rendered me speechless. It's a memory that will stay with me for a long, long time! Thank goodness for 'Sky plus' - I keep watching it again - well done everyone!
